This is a collection of Scripture verses from the 1984 version of the NIV Bible. I believe the topics are ones the Lord has given me and I am sure there will be more to come. I have not changed the Scriptures except on rare occasions, to add a period or comma, or possibly to change a pronoun to make it read more smoothly.
Guidance for Decision Making, from the Word of God.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed. In your strength you will guide them to your holy dwelling.
Because of your great compassion you did not abandon them in the desert. By day the pillar of cloud did not cease to guide them on their path, nor the pillar of fire by night to shine on the way they were to take. They will neither hunger nor thirst, nor will the desert heat or the sun beat upon them. He who has compassion on them will guide them and lead them beside springs of water.
In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps. If the Lord delights in a man’s way, he makes his steps firm; though he stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand. He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. My son, keep your father’s commands and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. Bind them upon your heart forever; fasten them around your neck. When you walk, they will guide you; when you sleep, they will watch over you; when you awake, they will speak to you. For these commands are a lamp, this teaching is a light, and the corrections of discipline are the way to life.
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace. The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.
The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity. The righteousness of the blameless makes a straight way for them, but the wicked are brought down by their own wickedness.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. Since you are my rock and my fortress, for the sake of your name lead and guide me. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this. For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.
They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven. May you be blessed by the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. The highest heavens belong to the Lord, but the earth he has given to man.

ANGER
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. By this all men will know that you are my disciples if you love one another.” It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. But Jonah was greatly displeased and became angry. But the Lord replied, “Have you any right to be angry?” Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.
An angry man stirs up dissension, and a hot-tempered one commits many sins. The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. In your anger do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent. Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry. For as churning the milk produces butter, and as twisting the nose produces blood, so stirring up anger produces strife.” Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools.
A quick-tempered man does foolish things, and a crafty man is hated. A fool shows his annoyance at once, but a prudent man overlooks an insult. But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, ‘Raca,’ is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell. A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control. A patient man has great understanding, but a quick-tempered man displays folly. Do not make friends with a hot-tempered man, do not associate with one easily angered. Like a city whose walls are broken down is a man who lacks self-control. Starting a quarrel is like breaching a dam, so drop the matter before a dispute breaks out. Mockers stir up a city, but wise men turn away anger. A man’s wisdom gives him patience; it is to his glory to overlook an offense.
I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing. For I am afraid that when I come I may not find you as I want you to be, and you may not find me as you want me to be. I fear that there may be quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, factions, slander, gossip, arrogance and disorder. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
